About Me

Ever since I was young I have been interested in how our personalities develop and why people do what they do. Consequently, the beginning of my professional training focused on forensic psychology, researching and evaluating how mental illness can influence individuals to commit crimes. I have worked extensively with juvenile sex offenders and victims of sexual abuse. In addition, I have provided psychotherapy and psychological testing for highly functional individuals, as well as special populations , including school-aged children with learning and emotional disabilities, adolescents with severe behavioral problems, and adults with chronic mental illness.

I graduated from Gettysburg College, with a B.A. in Psychology. I earned an M.A. degree in Clinical Psychology and a Psy.D. degree from Loyola College in Maryland. I served as a Visiting Professor at George Washington University and was on the adjunct faculty at Towson University, Villa Julie College, and Goucher College. Courses I have taught include Abnormal Psychology, Human Development, Social Psychology, and Theories of Personality.

I have been in private practice for almost a decade. I began my career as an associate psychologist at Drs. Olsson and Levinson in Lutherville, MD. It was during this time that I realized how much I enjoyed working with adolescents and young adults. While continuing to treat adults, I established this as my specialty area. In 2005, I opened my own office in Bethesda and continue to find my work with teens and adults quite rewarding.

I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the Maryland Psychological Association.
